Description
The Echlinville Distillery
The Echlinville Distillery on the Ards Peninsula, County Down, became Northern Ireland's first licenced distillery in over 125 years, distilling its first spirit in 2013. Since then, they have established themselves in the whiskey industry winning gold at the World Whiskey Awards and the Irish Whiskey Awards. In 2016, Echlinville went into gin production, making the popular Jawbox brand, followed by the Echlinville Gin.
Situated amongst the sweeping drumlins of the rugged Ards Peninsula in County Down, overlooking morose seascapes, The Echlinville Distillery’s surroundings are as uncompromising as their approach to making whiskey.
Their ethos is simple and straight forward in producing the finest spirits with authenticity and provenance, so it can tell the story of the land from which it originates and of those who brought it to life.
Echlinville Tours offer a real insight into the workings of Northern Ireland's first licenced distillery in over 125 years. Guests will be personally welcomed and guided through the process, from the barley arriving from the fields, through to the maturation warehouse where the Angels are certainly enjoying their share.
All tours finish with a few drams of exquisite spirit.
All tours must be pre-booked. Available dates are on the website. Additional dates for groups can be added, depending on availability.
