Description
The Museum of the Court of Accounts of the Union was created by Administrative Rule No. 19 of February 27, 1970, with the purpose of preserving the institution's memory. It was located in room 211, at the seat of this Court, now annexed by the Ministry of Justice, in the Esplanade of the Ministries. Its collection was predominantly made up of antique furniture.
It occupied, in the present headquarters, the dependences of the Library of informal way. It was, then, deactivated, some time after its creation, by the lack of physical space for the works of the end area of the Court.
After completion of works to expand the Court of Accounts, the President of the TCU, Minister Valmir Campelo determined his reinstatement. This time, however, with the peculiar characteristics of modern museology that makes museums institutes of memory preservation in a dynamic and interactive way.
Thus, by means of ordinance no. 210/2004, the Museum of the Court of Accounts of the Union was reinstated, with a reopening ceremony held on November 10, 2004.
In November 2016, the Museum of the Federal Court of Audit was transferred to the new facilities of the Serzedello Corrêa Institute (ISC) , in the Sector of Sports Clubs South - SCES, Section 3, Lot 3, Cultural Center, Brasília - DF, with the following structure physical:
- Exhibition hall of the Museum - 1st basement of the Cultural Center / ISC.
- Administrative service - 1st Floor of Centro Cultural / ISC.
- Technical reserve - 2nd basement of the Cultural Center / ISC.
OPERATION
The Museum operates from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and has a visitor-oriented monitoring program.
ACERVO
The collection of the Museum of the Court of Accounts of the Union is composed of items related to the centennial history of the institution. Among these, we can highlight documents, furniture and period equipment, medals and decorations.
