Kulai District

Description

The Kulai District is a district in the state of Johor, Malaysia. It covers Bandar Kulai, Ayer Bemban, Bandar Putra Kulai, Bukit Batu, Indahpura, Kangkar Pulai, Kelapa Sawit, Saleng, Sedenak, Seelong, Senai and Sengkang and Taman Putri.

Demography

The Chinese population (59.1%) is concentrated in Kulai and Senai Town whilst the Malay population (30.8%) is mostly on the FELDA's settlements and in some traditional Malay villages along the old trunk road. The Indian population (9.8%) is mostly working on rubber estates, factories or run their own businesses.

The Chinese communities in Kulai are mainly of the Hakka dialect group.
